A quanto pare il nome di Elliot Page, che abbiamo visto di recente nei panni di Viktor Hargreeves nella terza stagione di The Umbrella Academy, è finito in cima alla lista dei fan che vorrebbero un recasting per il ruolo di Barry Allen/The Flash nel DCEU.
A seguito delle continue polemiche che hanno demonizzato la figura di Ezra Miller, attuale interprete del personaggio, i fan della DC hanno espresso il loro sostegno nei confronti di Page, dichiarando a gran voce che si tratti del sostituto perfetto per il Barry Allen del DCEU.
Miller è apparso per la prima volta nei panni di Barry Allen/The Flash in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice del 2016 e, secondo quanto riferito, non dovrebbe tornare in eventuali futuri progetti DC, “indipendentemente dal fatto che ci siano accuse gravi a suo carico”.

Tutto quello che c’è da sapere su The Flash
The Flash arriverà nelle sale americane il 4 novembre 2022. Andy Muschietti, regista di IT e IT – Capitolo Due, si occuperà della regia del film e figurerà anche come produttore insieme alla sorella Barbara Muschietti e a Michael Disco. La sceneggiatura del film verrà riscritta da Christina Hodson, già autrice dello script del recente Birds of Prey. La prima bozza del film è stata opera dei registi e sceneggiatori John Francis Daley e Jonathan Goldstein (Spider-Man Homecoming).
Ezra Miller tornerà a vestire i panni di Barry Allen dopo essere già apparso in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice e Justice League. Sasha Calle, nota per la soap opera Febbre d’amore, interpreterà Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons tornerà a vestire i panni di Iris West (tagliata dalla versione theatrical di Justice League ma presente nella Snyder Cut), mentre l’attrice spagnola Maribel Verdú (Y tu mamá también, Il labirinto del fauno) interpreterà Nora Allen, la madre di Barry. Ron Livingston (A Million Little Things) sostituirà Billy Crudup (Quasi famosi, Watchmen) nei panni di Henry Allen.
