Guardiani della Galassia Vol 2: James Gunn balla come Baby Groot

James Gunn ha condiviso attraverso il suo account Instagram un nuovo video dal backstage di Guardiani della Galassia Vol 2. Il video ci mostra ancora una volta il regista alle prese con il mo-cap per la realizzazione della sequenza d’apertura del film in cui abbiamo visto Baby Groot danzare sulle note di “Mr. Blue Sky”: è stato infatti Gunn ad “interpretare” il personaggio attraverso, appunto, la performance capture.

Ah yes, another video of me doing the motion reference work for #BabyGroot. Believe it or not, I actually did three different versions of this dance at three different times. The first time was when I first wrote the scene, in my office st home, recorded by @simonlikes on his iPhone. That one was mostly so that I could remember the camera angles and camera movements I had in my head while writing than it did the actual dance. The second time was on set in Atlanta with a single camera and our visual effects team. That time it was doing the dance full out – there were some bits and pieces we used – but because Groot is moving and the camera was stable I was only able to travel for very short periods. And so we did it again, this time in Los Angeles, with many cameras lined down a long space so that I could actually do all the long walks and jumps Groot was doing. That’s when this is from. For those of you who’ve asked, bits of the dance were ideas of things I had in my head, or things designed for the already planned camera movies, but most of it was free form made up on the spot. The other question I’ve gotten asked a lot is whether or not I was just doing my regular dancing or was it in character. The answer is of course in character – I think you can see clearly in this video I’m trying to move my body that works for a little tree more than what I’d be dancing like in a nightclub in L.A. Il nuovo film Marvel vede il ritorno dei Guardiani originali, fra cui Chris Pratt nel ruolo di Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana nei panni di Gamora, Dave Bautista nella parte di Drax, Michael Rooker nel ruolo di Yondu, Karen Gillan in quello di Nebula, mentre Sean Gunn torna a interpretare Kraglin.

In questo nuovo episodio si uniscono al cast inoltre Pom Klementieff nei panni di Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki nelle vesti di Ayesha, Chris Sullivan nel ruolo di Taserface, Tommy Flanagan nel ruolo di Tullk, Laura Haddock nei panni di Meredith Quill, oltre a Sylvester Stallone  nel ruolo di Stakar e Kurt Russell nel ruolo di Ego.

Guardiani della Galassia Vol 2 è prodotto dal presidente dei Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, insieme ai produttori esecutivi Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nik Korda e Stan Lee.

Guardiani della Galassia Vol 2 la sinossi del film

Il gruppo di eroi atipici e alieni singolari si tuffa in una nuova avventura per scoprire l’identità del padre di Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), lo spavaldo ladro spaziale incastrato suo malgrado nel ruolo di leader della sgangherata banda. Al fianco dell’impudente Star-Lord, a ranghi sciolti, tornano la bella e letale Gamora (Zoe Saldana), lo spietato Drax (Dave Bautista), l’irascibile Rocket (voce originale di Bradley Cooper) e ridotto a dimensioni bonsai l’indisciplinato, scattante Baby Groot (con la voce originale di Vin Diesel). La storia segue l’evoluzione individuale di ciascun componente e il faticoso processo di consolidamento come gruppo e nucleo familiare, cui si vanno aggiungendo nuovi personaggi, nemici redenti e parenti scomodi saltati fuori dai più remoti anfratti dell’universo. Tra gli interpreti del film troviamo anche Michael Rooker nel ruolo di Yondu, Karen Gillan in quello di Nebula, mentre Sean Gunn torna a interpretare Kraglin. Il cast include inoltre Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan e Kurt Russell nei panni di Ego, il padre di Peter Quill.
